When I photographed Michelle and Tyler’s engagement session in the rain last autumn, I knew that photographing them at their wedding was going to be no problem. They seem like the couple that rolls with whatever comes their way.
Their day started off with a bright overcast day which makes the outdoor photos better because there aren’t harsh shadows and bright spots to deal with from the afternoon sun in an open area like a beach. The cherry blossom trees were also in full bloom which helped make some nice scenes of the details such as the dress and shoes and the photos with Michelle and Tyler.
After I took the detail photos of the dress, rings, and shoes, we did the “first look” photos on the lawn next to the Rosehill Community Center. After the first look, we went to the lighthouse area to get photos of just them. Next on the list was a walk along the beach of the Mukilteo Lighthouse Park where I captured fun moments of them enjoying themselves. Once we wrapped up photos of just them, we returned to the lighthouse where we did photos of the entire wedding party.
We all headed back to the community center, about a one minute drive up the hill from the park, so that the couple could rest before they walked down the aisle for their ceremony. After the ceremony, a big pasta and salad dinner kicked off the reception. There were toasts, cutting the cake, and lots of dancing for the rest of the evening before they left their fun party in a Rolls Royce.
