Jean & Dylan’s special day took place in Capitol Hill. We met the groomsmen at Volunteer Park to start the photos. The forecast was calling for rain that day. Many brides get nervous about rain forecasts but I always try to reassure them that it will be fine because 95% of the time in the Northwest, surprisingly, it isn’t raining when I do the photos on their wedding day. It will rain before or after the photos but it always works out like it did with Jean & Dylan. And of course if it is raining, then I do a fun shot with an umbrella like the one at the bottom of this post.
After taking some snaps of the groom and his groomsmen, we setup the groom for his special moment of seeing his bride for the first time. It was a special moment indeed, complete with tears, smiles, and hugs. A few brides say they prefer waiting to see the groom until the ceremony but I always try to encourage them to have this first look because of how amazingly special it can be between the two of them. Jean and Dylan proved this to be true. They took about 10 minutes to enjoy that time to relieve any anxiety they may have had for the day, shared some laughs, saw how well each other was put together, and had fun getting some nice photos of themselves taken in a beautiful setting that was different than their wedding venue.
After we finished photos at Volunteer Park, we headed to the Velocity Dance Center where everyone got ready for the ceremony. Once the vows and rings were exchanged, they celebrated in the room next door with appetizers and drinks until the ceremony area could be transformed into a dining room. The bride and groom enjoyed a good dinner, drinks, cake, toasts, and danced the night away.
A big thanks to my second photographer, Paul, for capturing some amazing moments!
Congratulations to Jean & Dylan!!!
